I am practicing Indian Miniature on large canvas to create surrealist and symbolic art
with a poem or prose. It blends Eastern philosophy and Jungian’s psychology and the
result is a surrealistic universe where ancient discipline meets modern psychological
inquiry.

Driven by my advertising background, my practice centers on communicating a clear,
core message. I pair each painting with poetry or prose to express the concept behind it,
while my graphic design roots inspire my use of flat colors and static figures. Together,
text and image transform philosophical ideas into storytelling art.

I live in the city but my home-cum-studio is near the ocean and surrounded by nature,
so you can see the elements of nature in almost all my paintings like sky, sun, moon,
stars, trees, birds and animals.

I make positive and joyful art to pretend that everything is perfect and beautiful and
there is no violence or injustice in this world. Hoping to see my work as a therapy to
the viewer. I try to convert pain into hope to motivate me and the viewer. I may not be
able to give the next generation fresh air or clean water but I can definitely pass on
some stories of my perception and wisdom.

Previously I used to draw mannequins in my art to depict my synthetic side and the other
character was an Indian miniature queen as a pure natural side of me. These two characters
helped me to portray my duality. But now somehow I don’t find my synthetic side,
so I stopped painting a mannequin. This is the proof that art can not only heal you
but transform you.
